Arthur’s Bio

Arthur VanDam, CPA, is a financial planner, real estate mortgage banker and author. 

His unusual way of deciphering and organizing complex concepts and explaining them in plain English helps you take action to become more successful and achieve your goals and build wealth.

Arthur joined PriceWaterhouse Coopers (PWC) in accounting and auditing after graduating from The Wharton School of Business at The University of Pennsylvania. After completing his MBA in finance and marketing at Columbia University, he joined Citibank and JP Morgan Chase where became a Vice President. 

He focused on lending and real estate financing and closed over $5 billion of financing transactions including $2 billion of real estate transactions. 

As a speaker, Arthur has presented to audiences as large as 450 people. He has shared the platform with CBS Market Watch’s Chuck Jaffe; Vanguard founder John Bogle; personal finance expert Jean Chatzky; former SEC Chairman Arthur Levitt; CNBC’s Ron Insana; and many more. Arthur has trained executives at major corporations including Citigroup, Prudential Insurance, Barclays Bank, and The Hartford. 

His many radio and TV appearances include Bloomberg Radio & TV; Sound Money by MPR; The Bill Bresnan Show; On the House with the Carey Brothers; Ask Heloise; WJR in Detroit drive-time show; and more.

He lives in New York and has three children, Alice, Rita and Mike V. He swims, plays soccer and coached little league soccer for 12 years and recently started enjoying Zumba and Yoga. He mentored accounting and finance majors at Baruch College in the Executive on Campus (EOC) career mentor program and guest lectures on real estate finance. Arthur enjoys binge-watching Netflix and recently finished Person of Interest; NCIS; Madam Secretary; and Scandal.
