Handy Password and Credit Card Tracking List Grid – FREE
In today’s cybercrime world with hacking and identity theft occurring all the time, cyber security experts recommend that we set a different password for each website, portal, etc. And change those passwords every month or two.
I don’t know about you but I have something like 50 passwords including my bank and credit card accounts, employee benefit portals, email accounts, streaming services, Amazon, and on and on.
I have read that some people store their list of passwords in their computer. Ugh. In the event your hackers break into your computer, you’re likely to be toast. Needless to say, do Not store your passwords in your computer!
I have different passwords for each account, which makes it a challenge. And I change them regularly.
So, I created a handy credit card tracking list grid.
Which is our gift to you – FREE!
100% FREE!
The grid is a Word file so you can populate it easily.
Download the grid and store it in a subdirectory in your Home Computer, NOT your work computer.
DON’T type your account names and numbers, user names or passwords in the grid.
INSTEAD, type only the account name; for example, Citibank Visa.
Do NOT store your completed grid in your computer, unless that computer is not connected to the Internet.
Do NOT store your completed grid at work near your computer or under your keyboard. BAD IDEA.
Instead, print out your template – you can customize this Grid.
Use your trusty #2 lead pencil to update the grid; then photocopy the grid.
Every few months, update your passwords. I update the passwords by erasing the old text and writing the new passwords.
Then I send a hard copy printout to my brother who lives in Florida. I photocopy the Grid and label the columns: page 1, column A; page 2, column B; and page 3, column C; and so on. I cut the sheets into vertical strips and snail mail each set of columns to my brother in a separate, plain white envelope.
My friend Frankie urges me to encrypt the document and email it. I prefer old school for some things, including my Grid. Maybe I’ve seen too many spy movies on Netflix and Amazon Prime; but I figure that the US Postal Service USPS delivers and a thief would have to intercept all three envelopes to put the puzzle together.
