11 Surefire Ways to Get Rich Instantly (Part 2)

In Part 1 of this series, we talked about ‘Leverage’ – how to 10X your success by becoming more productive and efficient – getting more by doing less.
Our readers loved this concept, needless to say; we do too.
My friend Eric and I worked a few summers in a country club near our house in Long Island. We jokingly called it ‘The Utopia Country Club’. Although I must admit; we learned a ton – life skills we used to this very day.
Initially, we were busboys and then waiters. Eric even did a few stints as a bartender.
If you have ever visited an industrial kitchen, you know the dishwasher is the size of a Cooper Mini. And it’s Hot – some 140°. Hot! The operator put the dishes, glassware and silverware on a rubber tray which had holes in the bottom and then slide the rubber tray into the dishwasher. Water shot up through the holes to clean the items.
Hugo, from El Salvador, was the operator. And boy was he perspiring yes indeed.
One day, I asked him, “How are you doing today?”
“Fantastic!” he replied.
What a positive attitude, a positive mental attitude.
Hugo’s reply led me to ask him why. I hadn’t led the most sheltered life as a youngster, but I didn’t have the experiences Hugo had or face any of the challenges he faced.
Hugo had emigrated from El Salvador in the 1980s, before cars had computer processors.
“Well, I was an auto mechanic in my old country. Everyone knew how to fix cars at that time. That meant you didn’t know if you had work that day. And if you didn’t have work, you didn’t earn money so you couldn’t buy food. . .”
“In America, I have a kitchen job where I earn Minimum Wage and can work 60 to 80 hours a week. I get three meals a day. My wife and I have a two-bedroom apartment. I bought her a TV recently. And, I have $732 in the bank. Life is fantastic!”
What a terrific positive attitude, a positive mental attitude!
When we step back, take a breath and gain some perspective, that can make all the difference in the world.
To get rich instantly, jump on these eleven tips:
Think about the things you have to be grateful for.
Recall a few personal accomplishments that made you proud.
Write them down.
The next five people you meet who do something nice for you, thank them.
Reset your expectations. While goal-setting is super important and a key ingredient for high performance and to 10X your success, be realistic on a daily basis. Stretch yourself yes, but think of what you can reasonably accomplish.
If you need to, stabilize your finances. After I got divorced in 2007, I was unemployed or underemployed off and on for several years. Needless to say, cash was extremely tight and money was short. Back then, I could Not see the good opportunities in front of my eyes. There was no way I could really succeed and 10X my success. First, I had to stabilize my financial situation and reduce the financial and personal stress. Depending on how deep the troubles, it may take a while. It took me nearly five years. If this applies to you, you are in good company. Take a deep breath and right the ship, as soon as you can.
Review your list of goals and objectives. If you haven’t, write them down.
What opportunities stand before you? What is the best opportunity that stands before you?
What’s your highest and best opportunity that stands before you? What opportunity is right in front of your eyes that you can jump on and execute so you grab an early win in a relatively short time-frame and start on your road to riches?
Log your achievements and accomplishments against your goals and objectives.
Celebrate your accomplishments and yourself! Celebrate your friends, family and coworkers. Every day.
As I described above, when I got divorced, money was tight, very tight.
In fact, there were some months where I wasn’t sure how I would make the rent payment.
But on the weekends when my three children visited me and I drove them to Sunday School, I gave them each a can of food for the ‘Food Pantry’. This was a cabinet near the principal’s office where people donated cans of food. The point was that even though we were struggling [relatively] – but Never like Hugo.
We still were able to eat three square meals every day. And we had a roof over our head and clothes on our backs.
While this isn’t always easy, when you look at the bright side of things and Put your angst, disappointment, resentment, anger and self-pity Aside, you free yourself up to see the sunshine.
And that opens new opportunities and paves the way for greater riches! Just one opportunity could change your life. And that would be fantastic. But you have to be proactive and take action today.
That’s how you can get rich instantly.
I never would have thought that so many fantastic lessons would come from a summer job at a country club.
